Tips for Straighter Hair

Wednesday, September 2, 2015

Straightening hair is honestly somewhat of an art. If you have really curly hair (like mine) it's not just an art, but a serious struggle. Here are a couple hair straightening tips I've come up with that will hopefully ease your struggles without going through some of what I've had to.

1. I read in an article that the ideal temperature for your hair straightener is 365  degrees. This temperature allows you to straighten and style the hair perfectly without burning/frying your hair or melting any of the Keratin. Buy a hair Straightener that allows you to set your own temperature. I love the Drybar straightener because in addition to being able to pick your own temperature it is also ionic which helps tame frizz.

2. Use a detangling brush like the wet brush or the Drybar detangling brush to make sure you get all your tangles out without causing any breakage.

3. Invest in a good straightening shampoo and conditioner because it really will make a difference. The best straightening shampoo I've ever used is the Bumble and Bumble one. It smells delicious and delivers amazing results!

4. Buy the It's a 10 Leave-In Conditioner! It is an absolute miracle worker. The Keratin in the product tames frizz and straightens while making your hair feel silky soft.
